My aunt Ellie, who you might remember from such posts as "Westerly Bottles: A Saga," commissioned me to paint a portrait of her dearly departed sweet dog, Wellington. (Wellie, for short.) I was so happy to paint this portrait for her! Wellie himself came together quite nicely, but boy were the steps and window shadows behind him tricky! They were such precise lines, which are hard enough for me to achieve with a pencil ... but with a paintbrush?! Yikes! It took me a long time to get them right, but I think the end product was worth it. Below are progress photos.
