Books and Flowers, Oil Painting Still Life - Process

I've started taking oil painting lessons to brush up on some long rusty skills. Until the last couple of months, I hadn't really picked up oil paints since my freshman year of college, nearly 25 years ago! I've really missed working in this medium, and it has been so fun picking it back up again. Here are some process photos of my second lesson - I didn't get many of the steps of this particular still life, but there are a few, anyway.
