Fiona Shazam - Oil Painting Pet Portrait
I love cats. Always have, always will. Ever since I was a little kiddo, I've wanted a floofy cat, and with Fiona Shazam, I finally have a floofurnutter in my life. And oh - the cat hair. Portrait of my Grandpa
I've never painted a portrait of a human before, so when my painting instructor decided it was time to try my hand at portraiture, the first thing that came to mind was to paint a portrait of my Grandpa Hull, who passed away in 2016, as a gift for my mom, who helped me get back into my oil painting practice this year. Mojo and Babyshoes - Oil Painting Commission
I was recently commissioned by a friend to paint a portrait for his wife's birthday of their two dearly departed kitties, Mojo and Babyshoes. It was a fun portrait to paint, because KITTIES! And I knew these two darling kitties, so painting their little faces was a joy. I tried to capture Babyshoes sweet and curious expression and Mojo's derpy grumpy old man visage as well as I could from the photo that I was given to paint from, and I think I got pretty darn close!
